UK, 2010, contemporary folk / Celtic folk / Irish folk

Andy Irvine – Abocurragh: Irvine has a silver tongue for traditional folk storytelling–real troubadour stuff–and on this album he’s got a great bunch of musicians around him to bring out all the liveliness (or pathos, where appropriate) that one would expect of Celtic music. He also dips his toes in Australian and American traditions.
I LOVED the first four tracks of this album, but afterward, it fell off. Someone should have warned Mr. Irvine away from the US-based political songs.
