Slovenia, 2017, avant-folk

I feel that the chief mystery of this album is its reliance on the listener’s interpretation of the pregnant pauses and the brief, wild bursts in the music. Not something to just throw on for a casual listen, this recording needs to be engaged with mindfully. For fans of foreign music that highlights a skilled and nuanced use of traditional instruments, such as the balafon, cümbüs, ngoma, mizmar, and brač. This one is heavy on the strings.
