Hank Williams, IIIStraight to Hell

This is his best release. Only this and Lovesick, Broke & Driftin’ are any good; the rest of his discography is garbage. But country music as a genre is all the richer for these two albums. This one is a pure country gem, and Hank III doesn’t get better than the slow, haunting, spine-chilling “Angel of Sin”. Hank sings a lot about the Devil. I think he’s met it, and the meeting left an indelible mark on Hank.
