Ukraine, 2016, Ukrainian folk

Though this has nothing to do with the music, per se, this is what the band had to say about this album: “This album was created at the very difficult time for our Motherland. We want to dedicate it to those who gave their lives for our freedom, who continue stand over its guard, and who go the challenging way of a free person without losing their hope.” I guess they’re referring to the overall Ukrainian crisis that started with the revolution in 2014 that led to Russian incursion into Ukraine. As for the music, it’s smooth, mellow, relaxing, with undulating gypsy violins and accordions and evocative, enchanting female vocals. A sloooooow groove…until it’s not.
