Ethiopia / France, 2018, tizita / avant-garde jazz

Eténèsh Wassié, Mathieu Sourisseau, & Julie LäderachYene alem

Supported by two French artists, one playing his jazz guitar, the other on her bass violin, Wassié, an Ethiopian, takes us down the rough and smooth vocal road of tizita, a kind of northeastern African music meant to evoke feelings of nostalgia and loss. So, when you’re listening to this one, think about what/who you’ve lost, and about what you relive in your mind.
