UK, 2017, progressive folk / avant-folk

Richard Dawson – Peasant: I like how the album opens with droning horns that devolve into playing like children. And then come the beautiful strings and lush harps. The choral singing fits perfectly. There are some highly avant moments sprinkled throughout, and even after multiple listens, I find it refreshingly difficult to predict where the unorthodox structure of the music is going to go next.
