Mark Mothersbaugh & Various Artists – The Royal Tenenbaums: A charming soundtrack with so much atmosphere and pathos, of course, but it wouldn’t be anything more than a compilation of great songs (which I wouldn’t be interested in, being as I am a studio album document kind of guy) except for the Mothersbaugh compositions that appear every other track, tying this whole soundtrack together and making it, in my mind, a proper companion to a film.
