Fela & The Africa 70Roforofo Fight: You know what I love most about Fela Kuti’s style? How he will just let the music go on forever, and you know he’s going to come in and sing at some point, but you don’t know precisely where…and when his voice finally eases its way into the music, it’s oh-so satisfying! The horns die down, and just the congas and the rhythm guitars carry the song, and then comes Fela’s deep chocolate voice! (Just fyi: a roforofo fight is a political mud-slinging contest. Even if you win, you come out of it dirty.)
