USA, 1969, experimental rock / psychedelic rock

Peter IversKnight of the Blue Communion: Featuring a Sri Lankan jazz diva, this album is more relaxing than the main genres would indicate. The jazz and blues elements are actually quite strong. The vocals that focus more on artistic expression than beauty give this album an overall “artsy” feeling, and the avant-prog touches are just what I look for in this kind of music. One thing I enjoy most about this album is the switch ups. Always keeping me guessing. Sometimes using silent spaces to form a structure that eventually falls into a groove. The best track is “Gentle Jesus”, and it’s a fantastic album closer.
