Dwight Yoakam – This Time: Some woman (or women) did Dwight wrong. Some guys just don’t do well when it comes to the opposite sex. They are slain by their charms, and they are fools for love. Dwight is one of those unfortunate souls, but damn it makes for great sad country songs. “Ain’t That Lonely Yet” is a contender for best country song ever written. Its astounding lyrics and the way Dwight sings it with such mournful defiance never fail to amaze me no matter how many times I listen to the song.
I cannot think of a *better* country song than that one: “Ain’t That Lonely Yet”.
