Mort Garson – Mother Earth’s Plantasia: This is the album that opened my ears to the whole idea of space age pop, and though the genre isn’t something I want playing all the time, it’s nice to dip into once in a while. This album is pleasantness in music form. It’s comfortable and, strangely, organic, despite the synthetic feel of the music, but that might just be the influence of the album’s title on my opinion. I mean, I might play this while tending to my greenhouse but not if I were working in an open garden under the sun. Nature contained within artifice.
