USA, 1977, jazz fusion / jazz-funk

Miles Davis – Dark Magus: This album fucks with your head, especially when you’re the kind of listener who wants to catalog and pigeonhole and classify by genre. It’s delightfully all over the place, weaving funk, jazz, and even psychedelia into brain-melting patterns. Dark Magus is an event to be reckoned with, like a roller coaster ride or a boxing match. You can’t ignore it.
I prefer my jazz to be imaginary–or to be Miles!
