Herbie Hancock – Empyrean Isles: I’m a big fan of his jazz-funk work, but this is pretty sweet, too, especially the last track, “The Egg”, what sounds like a 14-minute improvisation where space is used to more profound effect than sound, immaculately framing the sparse music.
