France, 1971, Canterbury scene / progressive rock

Moving Gelatine Plates – Moving Gelatine Plates: Another piece of evidence confirming that 1971 is, indeed, the greatest year for music so far. Everything about this album is cool, especially in its silliness, like the ridiculously long drum solo or the quoting nursery rhymes in weird kid-like voices.
The Canterbury Scene was cute, musically incestuous, lots of fun–and it was not deep or passionate in any way.
